Default 4G iPhone to Feature Touch-Sensitive Casing?

The 4G iPhone may be available as early as June and include a 5 MP camera, as well as a touch-sensitive casing, according to Goldman Sachs analyst Robert Chen.

“Apple’s going to put a lot of innovation, not just on the hardware, but also on the software of the new iPhone,” said Chen. The handset will feature a new plastic casing similar to that used for Apple’s touch-panel Magic Mouse released last year, he said.

Upgrading to a 5-megapixels camera will bring the handset into line with that offered by Google Inc.’s Nexus One which was released last week, said Chen. The next iPhone will go into production as early as April and be available to consumers in June or July. The handset may include an updated version of the iPhone Operating System as part an overhaul of Apple’s applications store, he said.

The Magic Mouse features a touch-sensitive solid plastic shell that Chen believes will be replicated to offer touch-sensitive features on the rear of the next generation iPhone.

Flash is still contingent on Adobe. From what I have read they are planning it, just not a priority. Then it does have to meet Apple approval too.

Will there be a fix to the battery life with this new phone? For a device that does everything, it becomes worthless when the battery dies so quickly.

Everyone I know complains about battery life. Youwould think apple would have improved that by the 3rd generation.. The device is still worth it though, just have to have external battery or chargers.

It looks like this upcoming model is gonna have to blow everything out of the water due to the tougher competition (Android, HTC, etc.)

If we weren't on our phone all day our battery wouldn't die.

So get it but don't use it? I've had multiple phones and used them regularly. This one dies way quicker than ANY I've had before.
I work where I depend on my phone for multiple things throughout the day.

If you're having exceptionally bad battery life then that's not a normal iPhone occurence. My iPhone will last me 2 days on a single charge and up to 3 days if I'm not on it frequently and I use it more than most iPhone users do. If you're constantly recharging your iPhone several times a day, there's a problem with it and I'd take it to an Apple Care person at the Apple Store.

If you're constantly browsing the internet on the phone as well as texting, chatting and playing music and videos, then it's you and that's normal. Even your average smartphone doesn't have the constant allure to use so many functions on the same device. People with no inherent defect with their iPhones who claim the battery is dying too quickly often don't realize how much they're actually using different functions on the phone such as bluetooth, Wi-Fi, downloading apps and playing games as well as what was previously mentioned. Many of these things you actually CAN'T do on other phones so hence the seeming difference in the perception of battery life of compared mobile devices. Something to consider.
